Obligatory introductory post
I occasionally develop strong opinions that I would like be available on the web. This is so that I can point to them rather than always having to paste them into an email. This web log is an intended to be a repository for such opinions. Hopefully it will at least be entertaining to a few.
Also, I am unsure about whether the blog title should include “olds’” or “olds’s”. I find differing rules from authoritative sources on the web. Comments welcome.
I've done a variety of things in my career, but always seem to
return to issues of identity and technology. Most of what's written
here will be about such things. I work for Novell, but this is my
personal blog. The views expressed on here are mine alone and do not
necessarily represent the position of my employer.

Why not just do dale’s virtualsoul and eliminate the problem? Or, the virtualsoul of dale olds. When in doubt, dodge the problem, I say.
That’s actually horrible advice in general.

I’d say olds’ for euphony, myself. The rule is that plurals ending in s take s’ (two hours’ work) and that for singular nouns ending in s it’s a matter of house style (so St James’s Church or St Andrews’s Day are the common UK style but it may be different in the US).
